EOYS Branding - Production and Photography
To give an idea of how some of these elements might br produced, I printed the catalogue, flyer and poster.
With limited paper selections, the results for the flyer and catalogue were mixed. Another consideration which wasn’t taken into account was also the colour matching going from RBG to CMYK, resulting in a darker slightly purple blue as opposed to the lighter bright blue which was almost slightly lavender in tone. For the catalogue, due to a thicker paper stock being used, when folded down it didn’t sit folded, and stuck out.
For the poster, I amended this colour change which resulted in a more accurate shade of blue. The paper stock for the A1 poster, 270gsm satin stock, suited the poster really well, with a bit of gloss but not too much.
Another element that i should have taken into consideration was thinking about where the design will fold. On the catalogue i produced, there are black lines from the outlines right on the fold which looks a little messy.
I took some basic shots of some of the products against a white backdrop. The photos were ok, however could have been better with more lighting equipment and maybe a better backdrop. I also think for a project like this, product photos often look good taken in context because it shows how they function and where they would actually be. So for photographing the poster, I hung it up on the wall in the studio and the result was better because with it obviously having been taken in uni, it gave it more context, and more of an insight into how the design campaign would have looked if it was fully realised.
