EOYS Branding - Initial Idea 1

For my first idea, I was considering a good way to represent each different course in the uni, within one overarching visual identity. I think when individual elements like this are reprinted, the campaign feels a bit more personalised and own able to students within the uni.



I came up with the idea to represent each course through a different circle. As an arts uni, each course creates things in different ways, so this idea plays on this, through representing how each would produce or visualise a simple geometric shape - a circle. This campaign could be applied in a really simple geometric way.










The downside of this idea was that when trying to think of one for each course, you start having to stretch the rules slightly, with some of the circles just being circular objects associated with the course, such as an aperture for photography. Another downside is that it almost feels a bit too on the nose, I don’t think the visuals/imagery utilised in this visual identity have to be inherently evocative of art or design studies.
